Sport industry is producing a huge amount of waste; performance precedes sustainability. Tennis balls are highly implicated in this situation because produced with artificial felt and rubber, they can’t be recycled and are only used during a few hours.
With these balls and some raquet’s oldgrips, I made an umpire’s chair that re-integrate the balls in their initial context throught different technics. The name of the chair refers to Carlos Ramos, a famous and strict tennis umpire who often confronts elite players, as my upcycled chair is questionning the sport industry.
